What you need to hire


Due to the current outbreak of coronavirus we are having to make to following changes to protect staff and other customers.

We would ask that you upload your check code with documents in the Pre Hire Paperwork section.

DVLA  phone lines are currently closed so we are unable to call them at any time,  we may be able to do a licence check with you NI number.

We are taking all sensible and possible to steps to protect both customers and staff in these uncertain times.


Please remember to bring your photo card driving licence. 

Please upload your check code with your pre hire paperwork. This code is case sensitive.

You may also bring in your NI number as we may then be able to assist in the office, this is subject to your details being available online.

DVLA are currently closed for us to call them. Normally we can check your licence with the driver present and between the hours of 8.30 to 5.30 Monday to Friday and 8.30 to 2pm on Saturday, DVLA are closed outside these hours and are closed on Bank Holidays. 

You also need 2 forms of ID


Due to the changes made on the 8th June 2015 the paper counterpart to the licence is no longer valid.

You are able to print licence details at home from https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence

You then need to Share your licence information, from this page you click the button marked Create a code the next page will give you a check code from here you should choose:

View, print or save your licence licence information

Please upload this code with your paperwork  in the Pre Hire Paperwork section

The above options are the only available to prevent a DVLA admin charge being made.

All the options below will incur an admin charge of £5.00

Options below do not have a cost.

If you do not have internet access then you can call DVLA on 0300 083 0013 to obtain a check code, the code is now valid for 21 days.
